Toren Live (Chrome extension)
Use our browser extension to scan images and videos while you browse. It captures a short, low‑frame‑rate clip or selected media and analyzes frames to estimate AI‑likeness and manipulation signals. Results appear in a compact overlay and link to your full report.
Overview
Live scan the current tab
Click the extension and choose Live scan this tab. Pick the tab in the Chrome picker. We sample a few seconds and analyze frames quickly.
Right‑click deep scan
Right‑click on an image or video and choose Toren: Deep scan (cloud) to send a direct file/URL for a full analysis.

Install
- Download the extension build or use the unpacked source for testing.
- Open
chrome://extensions, enable Developer mode (top‑right), then click Load unpacked and select the Toren extensiondist(or project folder). - Pin the extension to your toolbar for one‑click access.

How to use
- To live scan a playing video, open the popup and click Live scan this tab, then select the current tab when prompted.
- To deep scan an image/video, right‑click the media and choose Toren: Deep scan (cloud).
- For sites that block direct downloads, prefer the Live scan; for best accuracy, direct file uploads give the most detail.

Permissions & privacy
- Screen capture consent: Chrome asks you to select a tab before capture. You control when a capture occurs.
- Sampling: We capture at a low frame rate and small size to compute quickly and minimize data.
- Account routing: Results are saved to your account; revisit them from Account during your retention window.
Limits
- Some services (e.g., Netflix, Hulu) and some social players may block screen capture.
- What you see is what we scan. For the highest sensitivity, upload the original file when possible.
- Live sampling can miss tiny artifacts that a deep scan can catch.
Troubleshooting
- Nothing captures: Ensure you selected the correct tab in Chrome’s picker and that the site allows capture.
- Audio only or DRM page: DRM‑protected sites cannot be captured by design.
- Result doesn’t match deep scan: Live scan is a sampled estimate. Use deep scan for final checks.
